Just play solid starting hands.
The literature on this subject will be slightly different, but any Pkv player worthy of your attention will tell you that the winning game begins with a very selective approach before the flop. As a general rule, if you play more than 20% of all hands, you play too freely.

Learn to calculate probabilities and outs.
